WHERE THE HELL IS LAUGHLIN AND HOW DO I GET THERE?

UFO MEGA CON 2019 is being held in the “out of this world Aquarius Hotel” located on the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada.

Why there?  Well, the Aquarius is really a good property for UFO MEGA CON.  With 2,000 rooms and a great convention center seating about 1,600 people theatre style we will probably not have to turn anyone away.  Our only real limit on numbers is on the closing banquet/key note speaker night, because the room when set up banquet style seats only about 1,000.  None the less, it is a large comfortable venue.  The food is great.  The rooms are great.  At the Aquarius we can bring you the UFO MEGA CON for just $499 per person (early registration special) INCLUSIVE PRICE for 8 nights and 7 days.  (Including gratuities, taxes, and 3 evening meal events).  The location is right on the Colorado River and the River Walk is wonderful.

Most people who fly in will use Las Vegas airport as their destination.  There are more direct flights with very low prices (especially in advance) into Las Vegas from more places in the world than anywhere else. Then you either take a shuttle direct to the Aquarius hotel or rent a car; one way or for the whole 8 days.  Laughlin is about an 80 minute drive East/S.E. out of Las Vegas, on the Colorado River where the boarders of Nevada, California, and Arizona all meet.

The other most popular way of getting there is of course driving your own car directly to Laughlin.  Surprisingly, if you are driving to Laughlin from either the LA basin, or San Diego area, it is almost the same distance driving DIRECTLY to Laughlin or directly to Las Vegas. If you are two or more coming to UFO MEGA CON then driving directly there is an even better option. From the greater Phoenix area the direct drive is only about 3½ hours.  It is also nice to have a car with you when you are there for 8 nights.  And remember, PARKING IS FREE.

Do I have to be staying at the Aquarius Hotel to attend UFO MEGA CON?  No. You may stay at any hotel or motel, on either side of the river.  In a motor home?  No problem. Stay in your motor home and save the hotel part of the cost.

One more important option for getting to UFO MEGA CON; one that almost nobody thinks about.  Special DIRECT flights (air and hotel) for 3 and 4 nights stays in Laughlin are available from several mid-Western, and Western US cities during the week of MEGA CON. (There is NO requirement to gamble even one penny to take these flights!)  During the 8 nights of UFO MEGA CON there will be direct flights into Laughlin for low cost air/hotel package stays of 3 to 4 nights from (estimate) about 6 to 8 different cities. These flights allow people located near these cities to fly directly into Laughlin!  You would be staying at the Riverside Hotel, right next door to the Aquarius Hotel.  It is just a 10 minute walk between the properties.  (Good tip. Request the new tower for your Riverside Hotel room.)

If one of these special flights is leaving from an airport anywhere near you (even up to a 2 to 4 hr. drive from you) you would be crazy not to consider taking advantage of a direct flight into Laughlin to attend as much of UFO MEGA CON as the special flight schedule will allow.  The thing about these flights is that you can only find out about the departure cities and dates from 2 months or so out.  But, during the days of the original “International UFO Congress” these flights allowed many people, who just couldn’t affordably get there by conventional means, to attend the EVENT for several days. Worth looking at.  You may get lucky with a departure city near enough to you.  Check the Riverside Hotel website or call them and talk to the flight package department directly for departure cities ANYWHERE NEAR YOU during the week of UFO MEGA CON.  (If you talk to the reservation people sweetly, they will sometimes tell you the upcoming departure cities and dates before they are publicly posted on the web.)
